Digital and social Media have created a new scenario for the construction of public opinion. This is also affecting societies and individuals in new and unexplored ways: from governance or international relations to trust in institutions and traditional media. Digital communications can also be used strategically by state and non-state actors in disruptive and malicious ways to alter the public opinion of societies.
